Description
320 photos merged into one image using the lighten layer-blending mode in photoshop. I learned about Impressionism in art history class and didn't think about it much after the final exam. One day I realized the time-stack technique I've been using looked pretty similar to some of the impressionism artists I once learned about. I did a quick search to refresh my memory on the characteristics of Impressionism and found that my time-stacks adhere to most of them. In fact, I think they're a more accurate form of the style since the camera removes a lot of human error.
It was really windy this day, as you can see in the vegetation. I like the effect, but the trees against the sky don't work out quite as nice because they get washed out from the sky.
Here's some Impressionism characteristics from Wikipedia "...emphasis on accurate depiction of light in its changing qualities (often accentuating the effects of the passage of time), ordinary subject matter, inclusion of movement as a crucial element of human perception and experience, and unusual visual angles."
